How art and activism are making a strong pair in 2020

With the climate crisis, Brexit and human rights fuelling mass protests and activism over the last year, one constant throughout it all has been art.

At each event, art installations of all sizes have been taken to the streets to draw in crowds.

Artists Otavio Avancini and Paloma Ibarra share their experiences of protest art as they campaign at one of the school strikes in December 2019. And while some artists are going big, others are making smaller moves. Artist Sam Dawood has created the glitter tampon for the Bloody Good Period campaign to raise awareness for women’s rights and period stigma.
